He pulled off the road and maneuvered the car so that it was facing now into traffic coming from the South. "What are you doing?" his son asked him. "I'm preparing you" the Father answered. "Preparing me for what?" his son replied and his Father said "For the fatal accident". "What fatal accident? the son asked. "The fatal accident that you will eventually have. When that time comes you will better know what to do having already survived a fatal crash". So, they waited, together.

Between sleep and awakening I forget the things I know. I forget that I am safe and that my loved ones are nearby. I forget that it can be dark in the morning and that it can be also very quiet. I forget that I am not afraid and that the sun will rise and that the day will pass uneventfully. I forget that I am not in pain.

Well, he sure didn’t look like a nut. He was standing on a corner near Union Station, dressed nicely in “Casual Friday” pressed shirt, slacks and jacket and he had a nice smile as he handed us an envelope and said “Nuclear bombs you need to read about it here”. He could’ve been a lawyer. And, so, unthinkingly, we took one of the envelopes and when we got a chance to sit down, opened it and saw that it was filled with many copies of a glossy page that spilled the beans on what Prince Philip has been up to while we weren’t paying attention.

He’s been busy, to say the least.

Here’s a quote that was in BOLD type to draw one’s attention to this IMPORTANT info: “Buried beneath the Denver International Airport, far from the public eye, Prince Philip has constructed his own high-tech concentration camp, complete with rattlesnakes, massive gas chambers with poison gases of all kinds, nuclear ovens and electronic soup-traps.”

Wheshoo! Boy. Now, that’s something I didn’t know. My sister lives in Denver. Boy, is she gonna be surprised! Rattlesnakes! I, personally, hate them. And electronic soul-traps. Boy, they’ve made a lot of progress on those over the years. Yikes!

I just can’t understand why he’d want to bring this show from London to Denver. Now that would be an interesting story.

You have to admit, though, that Paranoia is perhaps one of the most interesting of your family of mental disturbances; interesting and creative in a kind of spooky/creepy way. As a resident of Washington, DC, I see a lot of it, but most of it doesn’t stand on street corners, preferring to be inside with their fellow representatives.

The mystery of the "why"ness and the "How"ness of the orange stick will follow me to my grave. It was just so THERE in the middle of nowhere, so orange, and so out of place. I'm sure that it's being there where it was was meant to mean something to someone, it just didn't mean anything other than being an orange stick to me. But I like the part that it plays in this picture.

And now, another Summer scene at the close of Summer 2007: The Backyard Swimming Pool. What could be more fun?

This is a new feature in Blogger that I've not tried yet, and I thought it would be fun. We went to the Prince Georges County fair yesterday and I took some "snaps" and some small vids. I like the Ferris Wheel, because it's slow and easy and the view from up there is good. I can't do anything that spins around fast, like the Tilt-A-Whirl, because my brain has shrunk up and the forces of such rides smashes my poor small brain up against the inside of my skull and it makes me dizzy and stupid and weird in the head and stomach department, so I just avoid those kinds of entertainment. But, I think that it is fun to watch other people whose brains are more OK than mine having this much fun!

It's the drama that pulls me back to this place. It's the drama of the water meeting the sky and the super-amazing rocks that some god or other put there to give the place a little class. The scale is about right for jaw-dropping beauty and the fine, crystaline sand perfect for bare footin' if it isn't too hot. The water is cold, cold, cold, and only the bravest surfers got out in it, but that's OK. I'm OK with just sitting here and looking at the light change into evening, and then, into night.
